STATEMENT
I aim to make my work from using a grid and using layers upon layers to help give depth. My skills I have gained from studying at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago still hold true in my style today. There I learned how to see the subject in all its parts. I take images and recreate them over and over to understand them. I want to see what might be in the new image by repeteing them in a drawing or craving, layers and line, cuts and strokes. I believe the only way for me to reach this is by repetition.
The creative process allows me to see “the way” everyone else sees. I’ve learned to allow letters, symbols, line and objects to fall into spcae, a grid, for me to understand them. The images then slip from my eye to my hand, allowing me to understand what is around me so I can recreate/react to what “you” see. I do this with repetition|recreation.

the desk project These three terms describe the basic temperaments that all humans are born with. As babies, we are born into the world as individuals, and our relationships interactions, learning styles are all influenced by our hardwired temperament. At UCCC we understand each child’s temperament and adapt to their style.
